For Dedicated Direct Connect – requiring a cross connect at Equinix
If you are a direct Equinix customer looking to establish a Dedicated Direct Connect, first obtain a Letter Of Authorization (LOA) from AWS and then attach it to your cross connect order in the Equinix Portal.
- Log in to the Equinix Customer Portal: This is the fastest and most accurate method as you can directly configure the order yourself.
- Navigate to the "Services" Tab: Select the "Cross Connects" link.
- Submit the Order Form: Enter the required details. The system will automatically forward the information to the Service Desk for validation.
If you are a customer of a network provider and you need to establish connectivity between that provider’s network and an AWS Direct Connect service node located at Equinix, the network service provider you are working with must place that order with Equinix. First obtain the Letter of Authorization (LOA) from AWS and then provide that to your service provider as they will have to place the order with Equinix.
For Hosted Direct Connect
If you are already an established Equinix customer, use the Equinix Fabric Portal to place an order, no LOA is required. Here is documentation on how to set up the connection.
If you are a customer of a network provider who offers Hosted Direct Connect and you want to buy service through them, use their customer portal or contact their sales team. They will manage anything required with Equinix.
